Save the Forum!
The Forum in Darlington has long been an established venue and fantastic music centre for young and old musicians alike.
Now due to a U Turn by the council and the withdrawel of funding the Forum is under threat of closure. There has been a tremendous response from many people in the music community which culminated in a demonstration outside the Town Hall in Darlington on Tuesday 13th July. The demo took place whilst councillers were holding a meeting to discuss the fate of the Forum. The result is that there has been a lifeline thrown to the Forum but it is not out of the woods yet. Again we want to stress to all you music lovers out there, venues such as the Forum need your support or they will disappear. There are way too few good live music venues in the Tees Valley area and The Forum is up there with the best of them. If this venue closes it will be a massive blow to live music in our area and one that we simply cannot afford to have happen. There is a Facebook group which can be found here - show your support for the Forum and please keep attending local gigs!
The 13th Saltburn Folk Festival
The 13th Saltburn Folk Festival is in Saltburn on 13th, 14th & 15th August 2010 and offers ceilidhs, singarounds, concerts, workshops and street entertainment including Punch & Judy. Details and programme are on the website.
Vin Garbutt to play Charity Gig on 19th August

Rock Garden Reunion!
This just in!
There is a Rock Garden reunion planned on Saturday, 4th September, 2010 at 6pm - 12 midnight featuring six bands at Stockton's Georgian Theatre. Lots of old punks on parade!

Admission is £5 in advance; £6 on the door but this event is anticipated to be a sellout. The venue holds about 160/180 standing room. Tickets are now on sale at the following venues;
Georgian Theatre Box Office, Stockton
Sound It Out Records, Yarm Lane, Stockton
Steve James Guitars, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough
Steve Harland who is organising this event did approach the people who own the Arena (old Rock Garden) but they did not respond to any of his requests to even talk - their loss? We think so!
