KING KING, featuring Alan Nimmo

Alan NimmoOn the 20th March 2010, Great Ayton W.I. HALL. Bazfest Productions are proud to present: KING KING, featuring Alan Nimmo.

KING KING is a relatively new band which has already made a massive impact on the British Blues Rock scene.

Lead on guitar and vocals, by Alan NIMMO, from the award winning Nimmo Brothers Band, they have starred at festivals throughout Britain and recently performed a highly acclaimed session on The BBC 2 Paul Jones R’n’B Show. Their EP has been played on air throught Britain, Europe and The USA. Alan’s charismatic stage presence, blistering guitar playing and soulful vocals dominate, however he shares the stage with Bennett Holland on keyboards, Craig Blundell on drums and Lindsay Coulson on bass.

Holland can be described as a very talented and animated musician, whose visual antics contribute considerably to the show. Blundell and Coulson form a thunderous rythm section whilst displaying superb ability and technique.

Anyone who loves The Nimmo Bros will love this band!!

Butterfly's Wings (Ellies Song)

Please watch this amazing video made by Glenn Coggin in memory of his niece, Ellie, who, despite being terminally ill with a brain tumour, campaigned tirelessly to raise funds for Ali's Dream, a children's brain tumour charity.

Glenn Coggin is a singer/songwriter from Scarborough - here what he has to say;

I wrote this song for my beautiful niece Ellie Othick-Bowmaker, aged 14, because she wanted to raise money for chilldren's brain tumour research. Ellie raised £5,000 (just part of her £25,000 total charity fundraising) from the cd before she lost her courageous fight against a brain tumour on Valentine's Day 2010. I'm hoping this video will help raise awareness and help make more money for Ali's Dream. Please share the video on your Facebook/Myspace etc, and buy the cd. Thank you.

More information can be found at their Facebook Group and if you would like to buy a copy of this beautiful song please contact Glenn here or Ellies Mum here.

Is there life after Britain's Got Talent?

BluJam

There is for BluJam! This local band made National News when they rose through the ranks of the popular TV Show Britain's Got Talent and made it all the way to the last 150 entrants. Since then they have been inundated with private functions and when they heard about the MFC Riverside Home Game gigs they got in touch. Of course we were delighted to give them a slot at The Riverside and they are scheduled to play on Saturday February 13th at the home game against Peterborough United.BluJam On Thursday February 4th they are making an appearance on Lisa McCormicks show on BBC Tees to talk about what they have been up to since their TV appearance and on Friday February 5th we are proud to present them at The Princess Alice, Middlesbrough on our increasingly popular New Blood night! New Blood is held every Friday night at The Princess Alice and entry is absolutely free - as are all gigs at the Alice. Its going to be a busy night this Friday, BluJam are headlining the show and we have local rock band God's Own Prototype and singer songer writer Carmella Rox in support!

This one is going to be a night to remember, Blujam are a 6 piece blues, rock 'n' roll and soul band from Stockton-on-Tees. Originally formed at Grangefield School they entered a countywide music talent competition and came a very close second. 5 of the band have been together for 4 years with Dan on sax joining the band last year to enhance the brass section which plays a big part in their music. Taking inspiration from artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis and Jools Holland the band's driving rock 'n' roll sounds create a great 'feel good' atmosphere at gigs. Get down early on Friday we are kicking things off around 8.15!

Jam Time!

Jam Night

Back by popular demand we are launching a brand new Jam Night at The Princess Alice in Middlesbrough starting on January 28th. For more info please drop us an email here.

I am Liberated!

Head of Light Entertainment

Head of Light Entertainment (aka Carl Green) is a fine purveyor of peculiar pop, a one off original who can never be imitated. Mr Head of Light has been entertaining the masses for many years and has just released his new album - I am Liberated - which we are delighted to be helping to launch at The Princess Alice in Middlesbrough on Friday 22nd February. One thing you can always be certain of when Carl performs is a hell of a show and he always leaves his audience shouting for more! He is highly entertaining, extremely original and not an act you will see the like of anywhere else.

Also appearing on the 22nd we have ElyK - a young band from Hartlepool, Stand By Tomorrow - local female fronted, indie band, and the fantastic Femme Fatale who are also appearing at MFC Riverside Stadium in February. This night is set to be one of the best yet and one we are looking forward to! Come along and be a part of it - bands will be atarting at around 8.30 and of course like all the gigs at The Princess Alice entry is absolutely free!

Third time lucky for the Purnells!

The Purnells

The only band to be cancelled this year at MFC Riverside Stadium due to the bad weather, not once but twice! The Purnells finally rocked The Riverside in sub zero temperatures on Jan 2nd for the cup game against Man City. A fantastic performance from this fantastic Teesside band - read more about it and catch the video at Fly Me To The Moon here.

The match against Swansea City scheduled for January 9th which was due to be played by The Halt has been postponed due to the adverse weather. We will update on here when this game is rescheduled.
