Confidence

The Georgian Theatre in Stockton is set to play host to the world premier of a play with a difference on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 July.

Confidence, a brand new play written by Keziah Warner, is completely controlled by the audience as they choose the order of the scenes to see the growth of their relationship and the collision of their double lives.

Funny, daring, and with the occasional use of bad language, Confidence is the shape of things to come in the world of theatre, where the audience calls the shots and no two shows are the same.

Local theatre company Apostrophe Theatre will be heading to Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer to give Confidence its debut run, another sure success for Warner after her play The Rules of Gold went down a storm there last year.

The story follows a man and a woman who meet in a world where nobody has a name and strangers find solace in the loneliness of others. Safe in their anonymity, they share everything with each other. But when they meet in the real world it forces them to confront what they have been hiding from.

Can they go on in their own lonely worlds, or must they give something up for companionship?

Apostrophe Theatre present Confidence at The Georgian Theatre on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 July. Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are priced £5 ADV and £7 Door and can be booked online at The Georgian Theatre (£1 booking fee applies).
