Stockton Riverside Fringe 2010

SIRF 2010

The full line up to Stockton's biggest event this year, Stockton Riverside Fringe Festival, has been announced and organisers Tees Music Alliance have hit new heights of impressiveness with a vibrant and eclectic line up.

Taking place from Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August the weekend is set to feature chart topping acts like Calvin Harris, The Human League, Lightening Seeds, Mercury Rev, Justin Currie, John Power and British Sea Power, who will headline the Main Stage over the weekend.

The Tees Active Comedy Tent features comedies big hitters such as Sarah Millican, Reginald D Hunter, Ivan Brackenbury, Mitch Benn, Susan Murray, Paul Sinha, Roger Monkhouse, Dan Nightingale, Anvil Springstein and that's only some of them!

The Georgian Theatre will be hosting the Fringe Official Aftershow party on Friday and Saturday with help from The Kids Are Solid Gold and C R E E P S.

As always, local acts play a prominent role in the Fringe and it's a fantastic opportunity for all kinds of musical talents to perform to thousands of people, and for the people of Teesside to see what talent the area has to offer.

Stockton's biggest export, Young Rebel Set, will be one to watch as they make strides to fulfilling their title of the 'Next Big Thing' and recently signed Cattle & Cane, continue their rise to prominence after a recent appearance at T in the Park with a slot on the Main Stage along side Dirty Weekend, Be Quiet! Shout Loud!, Jimmy & The Sounds, Red Rabbits, The Ryots and festival stalwarts The Wildcats of Kilkenny.

The Georgian Theatre will be housing an Alt Stage for the first time, displaying the ongoing surge of bands experimenting with alternative music including punk, rock and metal in the area.
