Gin Soaked Boy - EP

Gin Soaked Boy EP

Take a smattering of REM a piquant of the Manic Street Preachers and infuse gently with The Cult at their best and you're halfway to describing the sound of this Barnard Castle four piece. Though the reality is that you can hear those, and other influence in their music, they are probably the most dynamic of the guitar driven Power Pop bands in the area.

The eponymous EP "Gin Soaked Boy" contains 4 Tracks: "The Fear", "When We Were 21" & "Revolution" and are utterly superb: catchy, hook driven & immediately sing-able. The final track "Save My Soul" is a gentle acoustic affair with delicate piano and beautiful haunting female backing vocals by Anya & features what sounds like a 'cello & viola solo in the refrain - gorgeous song.

I really can't praise this CD highly enough, and having had the pleasure of seeing the band live on several occasions, I'd urge any Indie or Rock fan to get out and see these guys; one of the few bands that sound as good live as they do on the CD.

Seriously, go see Gin Soaked Boy live - buy their new CD, these guys deserve your support and you know what? You're going to love them.

You can check Gin Soaked Boy out on their MySpace.
