Various Artists - Uncovered Tracks
North East Live is very proud to present Uncovered Tracks - a compilation album from some of the finest, original unsigned bands the Teesside area has to offer.
Having worked with many local bands over the course of the year John & Angela Taylor, founders of North East Live quickly realised there were very few platforms for these talented young musicians to promote themselves.
Uncovered Tracks came into being to try and give the artists involved an outlet to get their music out there and also raise funds for a very worthy local charity – Zoe’s Place.
Zoe’s Place is a Home for babies and very young children who have life limiting or terminal illnesses and is situated in Normanby, Middlesbrough. The hospice can take up to six infants at a time and provides facilities and accommodation for families of those infants. Providing care for infants from birth to five years old, Zoe’s Place relies on funding from donations as they receive very little support from the Government. Around £800,000 per year is needed to keep this much needed organisation open.
The 16 bands involved on the album have all given their music freely to try to raise funds for this local charity. In addition to the bands’ involvement Landscape Recording Studios donated 4 days worth of studio time to the CD in order to get some of the bands involved professionally recorded and Darren Hiles, a digital artist from Tyneside, has donated his artwork for the cover of the CD.
Uncovered Tracks is an eclectic compilation, contains many genres of music, and will appeal to a wide audience. To launch the CD there will be a series of concerts held in local venues across Teesside featuring the bands involved. Tracks included are:
Lithium Speed Dementia – Forever For Now / Femme Fatale – The Judas Kiss / Carl Eaton – Wait / Radio Dynamics – Backfire / Princes of Monte Carlo – Rollin’ On / Shoebox – 2 Step / 4 Mile Drive - Poison / Gin Soaked Boy – Sweet / The Purnells – Radio Silence / The Target – Miss Mademoiselle / The Halt – (track not confirmed) / 3 Foot Ninja – Cardboard Cutouts / Fallen Phoenix – Me and You / Modern Works – Bring Back the Music / Innuendo – Paranoia / Head of Light Entertainment – The World is not an Adventure Playground
The aim with this CD is threefold. We aim to try and raise £10,000 for Zoe’s Place from the proceeds of the CD, we also aim to raise awareness for this very worthy charity and finally we hope to raise awareness of the local original music scene.
The CD is on sale at £5.00 and is available at each concert as well as various music outlets and venues. More news in January LiNK .... The production of this CD has been enabled by input from the venues where it’ll be previewed and by a generous donation from Charles Atha of solicitors Atha & Co.
